Golden sun in a
clear blue sky
singing birds
humming insects
I can hear
the laughter of
playing children
and a dog’s barking
from far away
I’m watering the plants
on my terrace
they are thirsty…
I look around
breathing in
this Summer picture
but somehow…
the rays of the sun
can’t reach
my shadowed heart
today…

Neeraja, I would try harder to bring some sun to you, but sometimes?
Sometimes we just have to dwell in the quiet
to hear what we need to hear...
