I walked that trail
yesterday,
leaving behind footprints
of doubt.
{each step holds memories
not to be forgotten about}

and I came across the crossroads

the intersection of life

where the pathway
of yesterday
can be looked back on.
{but not to be dwelled upon}

and I turned
not looking back, but forward
{tomorrow holds riches, life is the reward}

onward down roads
not yet trodden with
haunted memories,

but where grass is fresh,
untouched by the
weathering of many storms.

The journey forward
a chance to travel
virgin soils.

A decision

which path to chose?
Which path to take?
{this is the choice that I must make}

The road
now travelled,
the right one for me~

I ask the spirits for
their guidance of hand
{a journey begun across the land}

I now take the first steps
into tomorrow

~come....walk with me~

(lunchtime ponderings...)
Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal.

{on the wings of words are spirits fly...and our souls are free~me}

(smiles) Oh Donna, this is such a beautiful Rober-Frost-esque response, sweet friend, yes, there may be farrow and there may be desert on the road ahead, but it always helps to look ahead for so much beauty and promise is in store for us all! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Donna, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

This is a beautiful poem, Donna...

Life does indeed, have many choices and many crossroads...
Its almost like a board game.  Certain decisions can affect outcomes in certain ways.
You expressed this beautifully.

sweetly sang of the heart, Donna
with gentle voice
and satin verse

I like the idea of parenthetical thought within a poem,
like you did here.  Very original!

Donna, I hadn't realized until now that I did not respond to this absoluely stunning piece or work.  'Twas not intentional and perhaps happened during 'Ron's easy switchover'. LOL...*I was down for quite some time.*

If you did this over lunchtime ponderings....what do you whip up on coffee breaks?
WOW, is all I can say when you sit down and seriously write!
This is marvelous sweetie!
Love the 'thoughts' interjected throughout.

Well done poetess.

Lol at Nancy.
Hon, this wasn't really a serious write,
it was just what was in my head that day.

It started to be a pretty bad day
and a friend kinda helped me to find the way.
So there I was all feeling blue,
when he taught me...
each day is new....

I appreciate you so very much Nancy. Your support of these lil rambles in my wonderings truly means much to me.  Your a special gal.  Hugs to you.

Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal.

Very nice ponderings indeed.  Choosing our paths carefully to find the ones in full bloom is one of the gifts of this life.  You have shown that in your words.  Not only that you penned a poem that just let the thoughts flow without seeming forced and that in turn makes for a really good read.  Well done.
