~My Little Ballerina~

Pretty faces beaming smiles
beauty flaunting girlish wiles
charming long stemmed ballet poses
elegance of budding roses

breathtaking dance of rising dawn
pirohouette of satin song
graceful rainbow colors swirl
starry stage of dancing whirl

mirage of flowing legs and arms
her body dances fluid charms
oh my little ballerina
spinning pink, you should have seen her

luxurience ensconced in lace
as snicker played across her face
as her body danced ballet
her thoughts had wandered out to play
~

I haven't seen the word "snicker" outside of a candy bar in quite awhile, and found myself smiling widely...and liking this new photo, as well!

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Lyra, this is soooooo beautiful, sweet friend, I love it, this made me cry because I know hos special of a feeling it must be to see a smile of a loved one and how it touches you so much, just as I dream in the future of being able to have a family and have a child like her! (sigh) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Karilea...thanks so much, I snicker all of the time...I guess my grandaughter takes after me.
At the ballet recital, all of the little girls had beautiful smiles plastered on their faces....but Dasha, had this look on her face which said "what am I doing here?"

Thanks so much Sharon...
Actually, for me...the best part was watching that snicker on her face.
At her ballet recital, all of the little girls had plastered smiles and I was so proud of Dasha because she refused to conform.  She is just like me.
Do you like her headress,  its trick photography.......its really a light fixture.

Yes, I will give this to her when she is a bit older.
Right now, I think that her mother might be upset that I am actually approving of her not thinking about her ballet.
Oh but I do understand her so well because she is a lot like me...she is my grandaughter with the chandelier on her head.

This is so sweet. I love your sense of meter and the images. Times to treasure, they grow up much to fast. Your words frame this photo perfectly.

Oh Lyra, what a precious princess and it took me a few minutes to realize that the crown adoring her head, was really the light fixture in the room.  :-)

This was a wonderful write. Hugs, Marti

This is wonderful, Lyra - I can see this lovely little lady, dancing gracefully across the stage... thinking to herself "Time to go out and play, now..."

Very nicely done, m'friend..

Thanks so much, Electra...
I wasn't going to write about it until I watched her and I could see that she had a different demeanor than the other dancers.
She says she wants to take a break from ballet for a while, but would like to go back to it in a couple of years...
She's been dancing for about 4 years...since age 5, so she's probably a bit burned out.

Thanks so much, Marti...
Isn't that funny, the way the picture came out with the chandelier looking like a headress?
When I first saw it, I wondered about it because I took that photo and I knew she wasn't wearing anything on her head...and it took me a few minutes also, to realize what it was.

Thanks so much, Tracey...
Actually I got the lights on her head by accident...
I got down on my knees to get the photo of her, and the lights on the ceiling of the room just happened to be right there...
I never even noticed them when I shot the pic.

Thanks so much, Nan...
I believe that you nailed it...
Thats exactly what she was thinking!  It was also very hot in there because the air conditioning was broken...
they probably should've postponed it until it was fixed...
Dasha is a bit spoiled, she can't stand the heat...just like her grandma

Thanks so much, Barry...
And you are right...she just wanted to be a little girl and not a famous dancer.  A lot of the other girls in that class are actually training to be professional ballerinas...but Dasha is more interested in other things.
