I would have been happy with the tiniest morsel. Desperate I was for a chance to be free, mistakenly thinking your love could fill the emptiness. I remember all too well the day I watched you saunter over with your rugged country looks You hovered over me as I sat enjoying the sun in the park that day. A habit I quickly learned to abhor. Ours was an affair born out of need as if love could validate me and you so willing to endorse that thinking. Your iron will quickly imposed upon mine. It ended badly, as desperate love always does. With each of us walking away, content with simple memories, for the complex would reveal too much. WhiteRose 7/02 |
