It stands high above all the rest each year presenting a new test If it could only speak of what its seen by his surroundings which was once clean Hurricanes, floods and increasing progress yet he still houses the eagles nest Years and weather have left him weak perhaps now he has reached his peak If the old cypress had a voice and the chance to make just one choice Would he choose to be paper or would or fall to rest in the river like he should |

Stevie...this was interesting. If I were a tree, would I want to rot in the waters after my time to stand had come to an end, or would I want a cleaner death, and carry some love, or event of history, or chronicle of time on my sheaves to another and others....very interesting.... |

How interesting to write a poem from a tree's point of view, Stevie... Its so creative and its a lovely poem. I think that if I were a tree, I would love to be a maple because it has lots of seeds to feed the animals around it. ~ treehouse hugs Lyra |

Sunshine said it best, I'll just nod humbly in agreement/appreciation at these words. She said burn ... together. |

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Stevie, I love the personification of this, sweet friend, it hurts me to think of all the forests being destroyed so personally I would rather float on the water in that decision! (sigh) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Stevie, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you!
