My Poems My poems come from deep inside of me Some very hard, some as easy as one two three I write them for all the world to see The words I write help me say what I feel These words from my heart are so very real These feelings I cannot conceal The feelings I express are not always the best Some about love some about dying and some about trying to be the best Some better than the rest The words come to me out of the blue My feelings exposed to share with people I love like you Sometime the words get all mixed up when I try to make them rhyme Sometime they don’t even sound like mine Sometime the words I cannot find I try to feel how others feel Searching for what is real To touch a place deep in their heart To steal a glimpse of where their feelings start To let people know how I feel To show them a side of me that is real Through the words of my poems I hope you find A little piece of mind To share with all the people you love A ray of hope given to us from God above Paul Wilson 12-23-00 |

This sounds so familiar, Paul... I think most poets go through this. I especially love the part about the words sometimes not sounding like yours. I often have that experience...and sometimes words pop into my head and I have no idea where they came from. ~ poetic hugs Lyra |

Noah... Thank you so very much. I can only write the words given to me from above. To all... Please feel free to help me if you want to for I am always open to ideas and I know each of you write so much better than I do. |

Sometime the words get all mixed up when I try to make them rhyme LOL, Paul..i have long given up on trying to rhyme..can really relate to your anguish(?) here... i don't really have any tips to share but a poet whom i look up to said, "to improve, you must carry on writing"...i have found that to be true and it is one of life's lessons i carry around with me.. |

Paul~ A wonderful expression of the way the words come (or don't come) to poets~ Just let it flow ... And you might enjoy learning more about forms and and different styles of writing by visiting the Poetry Workshop Forum. I've learned a lot (some that I didn't want to learn) from just popping in from time to time and playing on the merry-go-round~ Take a looksee ... I think you'll be surprised at how much fun(?) it is to play with new stuff ! Welcome to Passions~ *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Marge... Thanks for the comments & good advise. I to have found that when the words start flowing it's like they just fall into place. I've read so many different styles of writting since joining forums that all I want to do is learn to attempt to explore new ways to write. I visited the work shop and found out what a Paradelle was and with the advise of another poet wrote one. It was a challenge to me & I told myself I could do it and I did. faterider... I really appreciate your advise and comments. Sometime I can't sleep at night because of the words I keep hearing in my head, it seems like all I want to do is write write write but in the morning when I wake up I have forgotten most of the words that wouldn't let me sleep. After trying to write a poem for my grand daughters for about 3 months with no success because I couldn't find the right words I woke up about 3 A.M. one morning the words came to me in a dream, so I grabbed my paper & pin and wrote it in about 5 minutes. My wife thought I was crazy. HA HA. |
