you saw me establishing rapport with the kids and came forward to blurt "Can I help you?" Stunned by this display of sincerity, I could only gape, wondering if you knew what you were offering our first encounter left me bewildered but pleased, thirsty for your friendship we subsequently met a few more times communication was difficult~ you answered, "Repeat after me" in response to a question I asked but our conversations were oddly satisfying perhaps our inadequacies in each other's languages flaunted instead our eagerness to interact, despite the odds perhaps our chats were coated with a sugary feel since we somewhat somehow managed to make ourselves understood (talking about soccer and the World Cup helped) thanks for the memories I only regret that I couldn't find the words to apologise for doubting your geniality before |

Noah, indeed! it's a wonder how decent friendships can be forged even when there is a nagging obstacle also known as a language barrier..it's a pity too that deeper friendships can't be forged due to this obstacle..thanks for reading.. Marie, i'm afraid not..but well, he lives on in my heart forever(as cliched as that may sound ) thanks for taking time to reply... |

it's amazing how the smallest things can make the biggest impact on our hearts and souls. . . you've captured him here for all time faterider. . . and that's the power of poetry. . . great work. . . ---------------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
