She glides into the room the sun beams dance upon her face Every lust-filled glance Makes her smile while her heart screams in disgrace Perfect is in denial She hides the scars of loss and pain she wants them to love her but only for her brain Smarts would only defile Her vanity won't concur Perfect is in denial She waits for someone to peek inside and behold all that society tells her she has to hide And so she resolves to wait awile Holding herself as though a cornered cat Perfect is in denial Once again She looks into the mirror surprised at her own reflection Not knowing who or what will appear without the slightest hint or detection she faces the world and once again She has perfected imperfection |

This is a lovely poem, denial is something that we all do, but none of us need, just being yourself should let the unique perfection show through- and we all have something good about us . If the poem is about the writer as I fear then just let people love you for who you are ... I once wrote a poem very similar to this one, I hate denial so much...then again, maybe that's because I'm in denial about being in denial !!! he he he, confused myself now . Loved the poem, so deep and meaningful . L.of.L. Tom . XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 'There is only a very thin line between genius and insanity, this is measured only on sucess; I am proud to be considered an under-achieving genius'. |
