Edge Of Dawn She takes a little wishful thinking to the only light found Straight to the first star against that sky to be seen Drifting into eternity even if in her own mind She finds the sweetness that only exists in dreams... So unaware to the stare towards the worlds blanket overhead Time wrapped itself around the hours without end In matter of moments the whole world will know she's through praying It's anything but replaceable finding hope being natures friend... Alone again doing what she so knows best Hanging on for dear life to the edge of dawn without rest But, it gave way to places and faces out there She felt time give praise to her longing in night air... Time doesn't take back where she wants to be Running along fields God places in the distance ahead Freedom rings louder then the words from the mouth of the wise As she clings tenaciously before daybreak spreads... One can hang on when the miles lead you to kinder rivers Break free from a days plea there on the edge of dawn Just lingering in constant reminder of a much more powerful place Just where night's slipping into daylight coming along... Unreal to the self but clearly part of the heart at last She absorbed that moon and on it's much kinder path To where gold is still every bit harsh to the eyes But, soothing to the soul and thoughts held inside... There's nothing like breathing somewhere on the edge of dawn Where imagery of the wonderful is never gone Something in awesome just before the sun's about to rise For, it tends to cease a dreamers cry... Something in awesome just before the sun's about to rise This is my favorite time of day...its too bad that I usually sleep through it... but on the other end of the day, just before the sun sets...it looks pretty much the same with the shadows falling in the opposite direction......I usually catch that one, and hang on to it's beauty all night.... I love your writing, Saunni... ~ hugs to a poet Lyra |
