Have I seen your face before? I'm afraid I can't think where You tell me that you love me And how much for me you care I think my name is Tom Or is it Bob or Ted? So frustrated I've become Many angry tears I've shed My mind draws many blanks Things aren't what they used to be My memory has shut down It can't be relied on you see A constant parade of strangers Come to visit me in here If only I could remember If only things were clear Young children come and hug me And say "Grandpa, do you remember me?" 'tho my eyes are working perfectly There is so much I just can't see My life has lost its meaning As I stare out into space I can't even be bothered To wipe these tears that stain my face * * * * * I wrote this on behalf of all those families who are trying to cope with a loved one who has Alzheimer's Disease. I personally don't know anyone close to me who has it but I tried to imagine what it must be like. I am in motion |

I haven't had this in my family, but I do have friends who do, and you did a very good job of expressing the frustration they all feel...well done SueTang! |

Beautifully compassionate poem, Sue. You have such a kind heart and generous spirit in your willingness to understand the heart ache of others. Shenachie |

Sue: Wonderful, sensitive poem about a tragic disease. I know people who are going through situations like this in their family and it just wrings your heart. Betty Lou Hebert |

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Sue, this is so very sad, sweet friend, my heart cries out to all who have this disease and I pray soon science and medicines can cure this disease! (sad sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, you have one of the most compassionate and loving hearts I've ever known and while you may not know someone with this disease, I think you have spoke of it so very well here! (wipes tears) You are a true angel, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you!
