my shadow stands in
horizontal posture
and my memory
seeks erasure
but I want it to linger
just hang about
for a little while
like a cloud hanging
over a rain-blessed city
like neon lights showing the way
when natural lights fade out
towards the faraway

it is a tunnel, this one,
and I will be glad if the
light at the end of it
stays right there
at least I will have
a sense of direction
I dread the light
to rush towards me
because it might just be
the headlight
of an oncoming train
rushing into me
like a guided missile
that seeks a warm body
to cause maximum damage

and I wish that you are the light
that stays equidistant to me
and that you never disappear,
never run away
however far you be
hope you remain there
at the same distance
of miles apart

I want you to linger
like my memory
just hang about
for a little while
like a cloud,
like silver lights
that border the cloud,
like you are
so far yet so close
like the feeling of love
that is felt and kept
in the innermost chamber
of the heart
in the sanctum sanctorum
