I sit.
I don’t want to move.
I am afraid to pop the bubble.
I don’t want
to enjoy the blood red reflection
of the dying sun.
I hear puppies tumble
and play, I don’t want to look.
I don’t want to scratch the glaze
from eyes that hold back
the flood.
The doctor writes a magic spell.
I swallow it.
Daily.
It doesn’t turn the corners
of my mouth.
It doesn’t unburden.
It fizzes
reinforcement to my
buoyancy.
It doesn’t reach

the depths.
