I will take you--meadowland! We shall dance in heel-to-toe. I will take you past badlands where the heather is in growth. I take you, to intensity, in respect of nature's art. I take you to serenity-- we'll dance where graces part in the place where wolves bare teeth-- the place where blood leaks from our meat and muscle is a supper's need-- and all of plans are just a bleed... Let the bog come rolling in. Let the bayou bleat with frog. A colonnade of silken sin-- the decadence of freedom's fog. Lions laugh with devil's wing demons mocking angels sing... Chiseled stone in guard of bone-- refusal of a sin's atone. A clock in time corrects the past-- the dock in rhyme connects the dots. The rhythm of the sea's repast-- a skeleton in reach of "ought." With silken sigh of sail, reposed-- drunken sailor's lie, "who knows?" a half moon of an effigy-- smiling sin of mockery... Statuary--boasting grin as shadows beg the cup 'o gin. A single stark of line on sun-- rebukes the sailor's job...undone. Bats in glee, are thither-there... black-dart jets in bounce of air-- seagulls scream for sweet mercy as sea receives the sun in peace. Watching moss sway from the oak-- visions cast in exhaled smoke, I hear pirates in the swamp-- grateful for the cypress haunt. [This message has been edited by serenity (06-29-2002 03:21 PM).] |

"Let the bayou bleat with frog. A colonnade of silken sin-- the decadence of freedom's fog. Lions laugh with devil's wing demons mocking angels sing... Chiseled stone in guard of bone-- refusal of a sin's atone." oh, karen… your tributes to nature are unparalleled. this chants, and writhes, and glorifies… from gleam of teeth, bone and blood, the dance, romance, the hunt and haunt… wondering, do you ever take the time to go back and edit? I ask because this could be epic… ~smile~ and I’d be happy to lend what small help a critique might offer… were the request given. lovely. |

Serenity~ I THOUGHT I heard the Cypress calling ... This is wonderful ... you've got such insight~ The absolute imagery in this - 'Bats in glee, are thither-there... black-dart jets in bounce of air--' blows me away ~ Thank you for thinking o' me~ I think it's just perfectly marvelous~ *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |
