A twist of bones have come to be a pile of souls beneath the scree to fill the gut so hungrily of beast that flies in dark of night The brown of wing and gold of back behind coal eyes in swift attack when man and beast become a snack before the scraps are spat in flight. A dwelling curse on mountain high where screams emit and sound the cry as thousands doomed to swiftly die depart the earth in wretched grip Each night before the moon is new the dragon sits, in wait of stew to boil upon the fires of few who dare to taste a stew in sip. One shadow comes ‘tween lighted moon to cast the dark ‘fore slip of spoon as wings in soar descend so soon for claws of beast to take a grasp. Screams of the terror break the still when demon claws do find the kill and eyes of coal in stare do chill the soul of man and beast in gasp A human soul must always keep one open eye awake in sleep as dragon’s rest in fitful sleep from growling guts and aching maw No dentist will this beast retain to take away this hurtful pain and dragon’s like to party rain if ever a dragon you saw.
