Check out this page of artwork by Neilson--some points of reference are obvious, others more obscure, but all of them are interesting! There's over seventy, so take your time and hopefully, enjoy: http://2photo.ru/12733-risunki-xudozhnika-sam-nielson.html If you come up with something please put "poetry challenge" or PC somewhere in the title. The number of the work would be helpful--I'd say make us guess, but there's soooooooooo many images to choose from. Any style you like--I'm just hoping to spark some creativity during the dog days of summer. |

Image 8... out of context and irreverant no doubt.... Conversation in Temple's Shadow “Hey Peter you have any idea What this guy Judas is saying?” “I think he could sell sand to a camel And I’m not sure I quite trust the feel of him” “Still, he is smooth and look at the way He fingers silver softly in his palm” “He’s no stranger to the realm I’d venture to say” “He looks the jealous sort don’t you think?” “What?” “Oh, sure he can join us” “One never knows when they might need Something sold” “What’s that you say?” “it might be good for fundraising” “Later on, you know.” “I agree, besides we all have Our own cross to bear” |

Oooops. I hit the wrong button. Judas. I've always liked Judas. Jesus predicted that all of the apostles would ultimately betray/deny him, but Judas was the one who felt so remorseful that he couldn't live with himself. I always thought that Judas should have kissed Peter... |

lol I can't say that they all didn't renounce him or betray him..we don't know that the words they left are not their own spin of the final tuths. Sorry my dear lady,it was the only image that spoke to me, and the sly sideways grin brought to mind how a conversation might have gone.... in this world of mad humor... we can easily of course.... have it all erased..for I know it may well be unfitting for the forum and the people who come here.. |

I've always enjoyed the conversational style, Cap. And I'm pretty sure I've said much of the same in Philosophy, or some place else. Religious tolerance is written in Ron's guidelines. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've just "stumbled on a chess set that is comprised of various sized shot glasses filled with some certain familiar looking beverages. I'm fascinated. And bad at chess. I did enjoy the poem and wanted to thank you for playing, though. |

serenity, Couldn't pass this one up. really enjoyed Cpats' take on it too. Doc The trees are gone, I ate them all, your planets' will be next. deranged, and with an axe to grind I'll come by hypertext. And, let me tell you sweetheart, I'm good at getting wood, I cut a swath that's pretty wide as you'd expect I could. With teeth I've honed to razors' edge I will deforest you, there will not be one pencils' worth remaining when I'm through. Ha ha! Your beavers over there are naught compared to me! Good thing for you I am not real, some whack-jobs' poetry... reached out and simply read my mind which might explain these eyes. But for that psychopathic glint, I'm just a normal guy. And I've been told I'm rather cute so baby what you say, you hit that hypertext link there and I'll be on my way! |

Image #1, As two of a kind, we take to the sky, for whither he goest there too goeth I. The strength of our bond though unlikely may seem has the power and depth to transcend Earthly dreams. We are linked in a way none have e'er been before. Come along with us, fly, we have worlds to explore. Leave your cares they're a weight that's been holding you down. Let it go, let a smile take the place of your frown. Just for once, harken back to your youth once again, and come soar with us, free, for a moment my friend. |

Nice work Sir Moose! enjoyed your take on these.. and it shows you have a talent for taking from the images and life both a bit of humor and the depths beneath. |

Ain't he incredible? Funny, intelligent wit, and meter, too. I'm gonna have to ask my son what a hypertext link is, though. (Um, is that gonna embarrass me? Or...him?) Thanks Doc, I needed the smile. Good at getting wood. Sheesh. |

sCpat, Thank you sir, you are much to kind, I'll have you know I take my humor very seriously, no, wait, I take my seriousness rather humorously, er, well, you get the idea. Doc serenity, I'll take that smile as payment in full, not that you owed me anything, it is I who owe you for the introduction to Mr. Nielsons' works. I do believe the man has been to my home planet! So uhhh.....this is my attempt.(Image - 18) Fear not friends I smirk with intent though the fire buns brightly my will can not be bent My very own demise is within a wings reach so slowly I extend a lesson here, for me to teach One by one my feathers are aflame and as I fall to ashes the fire I do not blame From the ashes I am reborn this is not the end of me I have been reformed I rise anew as if springed from a helix out of the ashes I am The Phoenix. -Trina. |
