Roses are red poems anyone? Here's two: Roses are red, Violets are indeterminate. If you're gonna drink mescal, Look out for the worm in it. Roses are red, Violets are purple. Waffles and pancakes Taste better with surple. Extra points for the "aaaargh" factor. Jim |

Roses are red, But they could've been blue, Who knows? We might've been too! We are each of us angels with only one wing. And we can only fly by embracing each other. -Luciano De Creshenzo An assassin-in-training shouldn't. |

Roses are red And violets are shrinking Humility’s fine At least that’s what I’m thinking. Because Roses are red But have thorns that get stuck in While Violets are blue But are kinder when plucking. ( I'm glad my spellcheck picked up on that last line otherwise I'd have been in trouble). |

Roses are red I can't get a life. Violet ran off With my best friends wife. Roses get read, Violets get humbled; That's just the way The old cookie crumbled. Surely it's after 5 PM somewhere... Best, Jim |

Most roses are red inside they're just black. Just like a rose, this world's gone quack. We are each of us angels with only one wing. And we can only fly by embracing each other. |

Roses are red sometimes they are white with green from the stem in the heart of array petals of purity holding each other up Roses are red but not buttercups. Pink demitasse with yellow rays love of butter or not? Wild growing clusters dot highways in spring. Roses are red. And their petals curling edge sepia amber to black crumbling as they fall from their stems sans ceremony. Roses are red. Violets aren't blue. Violets are...violet, and that is the truth. Poetry begs us to color them blue. But purple is harder to rhyme so we do take license of subtleties pondering hues-- Roses are yellow and pink and and red too. |

Roses are Red (challenge) Most Roses are red But color is just a hue Kinda makes you wonder Why we don’t call them blue Roses can be pink Violets can be violet And flowers are just flowers That happen to be quiet Roses are black This seems to be strange But that’s what they are There’s nothing to blame Roses are white And their hues seem to change But it nice to have Flowers to rearrange Some rare roses are purple But nothing rhymes with that So we just don’t use the word Purple in poetry we lack Roses are yellow And violets need sun And hey what d’ya know This poem is done "I have no other but a woman's reason: |

Roses are roses they petal like you gambling hearts holding one spade of deuce. Roses are poetry. I want to write them. Like loop-de-loop stiches in gather of hem. Roses are everything-- japanese fans, unfurling their witchery entrancing man. Roses are magic and ephemeral. Roses, the last thing you smell that is her. Roses enchant me. Roses are red. Roses are metaphors for love of life's dread. --with love, from dottie |

Roses are red and they're sold by the bunch but send her an orchid for a bigger punch ! . . . . Roses are red or so I've been told forget all the flowers and just buy me gold . . . . Roses are red and they smell, oh, so sweet but it takes more than flowers to knock me off my feet . . . . Roses are red yes, and flowers are fine but the way to spell romance is with candles and wine I am nothing special...and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me,this has always been enough.~N.S |

Hey, this reminded me of a poem I wrote for a friend at work named Von, who was a physical Therapist. It started with a twist on the "Roses are Red" thing ... Just a couple of notes: "TEDS" are anti-embolic stockings used to prevent unwanted clots, and Physical Therapists use long canvas belts to help lift patients. Von's Introduction to his Patients Hoses are TEDs and knees violently blue. I’ll pump that sore leg and I’ll strain your back too. I’ll add to your grief when your pains aren’t few. Nice to meet you. I’m Von and I work with PT. If you see me approaching, it’s better to flee. But if pain is your favorite sensation, call me. I specialize greatly in making things smart. I’ve refined and perfected this cruelty to art. You’ll wonder of me, “Does this beast have a heart”? I will cause you to hobble and wobble and reel, inflicting my hurts from your head to your heel. No, I’ll never let up, though you groan shriek and squeel. And when I enter your room 8 A.M. to awake, Don’t whine that you’re “ninety” expecting a break. Though the chart says you’re ancient, it’s probably a fake. And so what, if you clutch me and strain as you trip, telling me how they have carved your poor hip. Watch me. I’m cracking my long canvas whip. Please don’t wonder “Oh what have I done to deserve...” I’ll treat you like any “Mark Spitz” I might serve. To think I would let up for you, you’ve got nerve! Never think I dislike you. All patients of mine from the vigorous down to the dead walk this line. Just remember these things and we’ll get along fine! Stephen |

Roses are red and so is your face you zipped up your fly in a speedy pace many folks say violets are blue oh how you wished you weren't in the womens loo if only they would have told you it was the womens bathroom so many guys wear skirts now a days you were right to assume stupid pictures of stick people placed on the door you cant really tell who's who anymore! BTW great poems everyone i loved them made me howl with laughter.. well only if they were supposed to be funny. if they were sweet and serious i was more calm and relaxed. good job! Krysti |
