I am trying to write a poem about a hobo, it's poverty, and the things they don't have that we take for granted......but the only thing I can think of is how he rides the trains into oblivion. HHEELLPP!!!! I need ideas!!! |

Well, you could write about how they sleep in things like cardboard boxes, they have a "meeting place" and elect a "king of the hoboes", and each of their meals comes from a different place. Hope these help! |

You could write about their fears (freezing to death on winter nights, getting sick, never getting back on their feet, etc.), or perhaps their loneliness and feeling of uselessness in society. Hope I help ya a bit! ------------------ *Krista Knutson* |

Sorry I read your plea and was going to give you lots of words and ideas but I couldn't get the hobo out of my head, so I ended up writing a poem myself, maybe it will give you some ideas it isn't good but if you want to look its in the open Poetry section and its called Hobo Sorry Craig |

i knew a bag lady and she packed everhting she owned from one place to another....and she liked living that way. she was older and retired or on ss and she preferred not to have a house to take care of or electric bills to pay, or a lawn to mow. hope this helps ------------------ Sharon Lee Rotondi (Enotneicna) http://members.rosenet.net/wtw/ [This message has been edited by Enotneicna (edited 06-29-99).] |

Perhaps you want to delve into the thing that they purposely left behind...and the reason for leaving things behind...death, war...taxes... Good luck. ------------------ Sunshine Words will always express our feelings true |

here it is... Tired, sleepy, dreamy. Hunger running through veins. Trash, garbage, poverty. Dignity nowhere to be found. Sewage seeping Footsteps creaking On the rotted floor. BANG! Wake up with a jerk. Bolt out of bed Rub your head Ignore the drops of blood. The touch you crave From the little dog named Brave Is no where to be found. Your body gets weak You trip over your feet And stumble onto the bed. Your body gets heavy Death? No! You're not ready! Then time betrays you. I hope it helped... |
