Ever since I started to try writing poems in Tagalog, I became interested jearing poems in other languages as well. I'm sure there are many here who know a language other than English, since we all trace our roots somewhere else, unless you trace your history to the UK, where they speak English anyway. So, my challenge: Write a poem in a language you know and then translate it into English so we can all enjoy it. Have fun writing, cuz I noe I'll have a blast redaing them!!! lollz |

"Mañana, él es Negro" Mañana, El sol no se levantará. Mi alma llorará para la humanidad. La esta noche es una delicado azul rhapsody. Pintado con las tonalidades del cielo, Encontraré paz en nothingness. El desear para el himno dulce de la creación... Hoy, él es mi canción. Estoy con él mientras que él muere. Esta hora, él será oro de plata, El intentar mirar en mis ojos Antes Todos nuestros destinos se cargan con la sombra... Mañana, él es negro. ------------------ "Tomorrow, he is black" Tomorrow, The sun will not rise. My soul will be weeping for humanity. Tonight is a delicate blue rhapsody. Painted with the hues of heaven, I will find peace in nothingness. Wishing for the sweet hymn of creation... Today, he is my song. I am with him as he dies. This hour, he will be silver gold, Trying to look into my eyes Before All our destinies become burdened with shadow... Tomorrow, he is black |

I like your idea, the different language poetry is really great. I speak three different languages on my own, but I always seem to only get the point across in one language or another, if I write it in spanish, or in french it doesnt seem to translate the same emotion into english, and vice versa. But those of you who can get it to work have all my respect. ~*Alnilam*~ |

Mon Ami Mon ami, tu me manques. Ton memoire, est avec moi. Mais, tu me manques. Hier, j'ai vu ta mere, elle etait si jolie. J'ai pleure avec elle, parce-que tu etait mon ami. My Friend. My friend, I miss you. Your memory is, with me. But, I miss you. Yesturday, I saw your mother, she was so beautiful. I cried with her, because you were my friend. I don't know what you guys think, but the english version sounds a bit weird. |

Weinig vleugel onverschrokken alle uitdagingen zal ontmoeten Essorant, now that's something I recognize, my native language! And I think you did a great job, but....as often happens when words are translated...you partly choosed the wrong synonyms. It's a pity you didn't put the translation in English also. I think what you meant to say was: Kleine vleugels Zal onverschrokken alle uitdagingen ontmoeten Little Wings Will meet all challenges Fearlessly But still for your courage to write in another language. I think this is a cute challenge and I'll make one too (in Dutch of course) And I did: /pip/Forum83/HTML/000293.html Titia Like scattered leaves...my words will flow [This message has been edited by Titia Geertman (11-27-2003 07:15 PM).] |
