somebody's dungeon

Well Noah really came up with the idea. To write a poem about a small corner of your world. Whether it be a small corner of your house, your office, your car , just a small corner. So there it is, a challenge.

My back rests against a tree,
its smooth bark my resting place.
This is my curb.
My glorious tree spreads branches over me
protectively,
and rains leaves on me,
like tears,
to match my sorrow.
There are people here,
but I do not mind.
I am invisible to them.
Invisible in plain sight.
This is my hiding place,
where I grew up,
where friends and mentors held my hand
and taught me that I have worth.
This is my hiding place,
where I come when I am alone,
when I feel unworthy.
Here I have laughed,
watered the grass with my tears,
and loathe I am to admit it,
but I beat my rage on the tree.
The tree is my protection.
It moves not,
not in the biggest storm.
It is where my faith,
my childish faith, rests.
Splits and scars mar its smooth bark,
and they are precious to me.
They comfort me,
the scars in its bark remind me
it went through growing pains too.
So this is my refuge,
my hiding place,
my shelter.
This is my corner of the world,
because it is special to me.

I don't like that one. Maybe I'll try again later.

I don't care if you're an old fart, because old people are smarter than me.

I forget what the word is called, but I am afraid of open spaces. This subject was particularly related to me

I love to read
somewhere small,
Somewhere warm,
Somewhere safe.

So many places
I have tried
Behind a curtan in the water heating room,
In the coat closit,
in a cave made in my bed.

So far none have worked out.
But tonght,
I piled pillows under a table and read there, where it was soft and cozy.
So I think I will try it again.
