We all have our heroes,
someone we look up to,
idolised for something
really special that they do.
Someone from any field
or from another time.
Tell me all about them,
write me a little rhyme.
Put it up in open
for everyone to see.
Give me the link to read
and you’ll get thanks from me.

I am working on this myself and I wondered what others would write about.

Well Dee, if you are talking about heros on TV, I don't remember thier names. I just remember the shows. Is that what you are talking about? Or who?

Smart Chick, I am talking about anyone you look up to. Someone who, in your eyes, does amazing things without reward.

Oh ok, Dee. I'll see what I can come up with.

MY hero is my mother...This is for her, its called "In the Eyes of A Child"

Comfort of my fears
Guardian from above,
Sound of my laughter
That showers me with love.
To mend my broken wings
To share my every tear,
To guide me through life
To help conquer all my fears.
I want you to know that every day
That you stand by my side,
It helps me see my wisdom
It helps me see my pride.
You're a part of my life
Which I will never let go,
You know what I'm like
& you've watched me grow.
Your praise now that I am older
As life's success seems near,
Is still the sweetest praise
I hope on earth to hear.
I know you will always be there for me
And you will be the only one to understand,
Just who I am and what I want to be
Without thoughtless replize or demands.
You have taught me so many things
But the one that has stuck to me,
Is to live each day in happiness
& to become what I strive to be.
I know I'll make the best of my life
Because I know that you did yours,
& once again I want to thank you
For letting me walk through life's doors.

You are more than just my mother...

For in much wisdom is much grief
& he who increases knowledge
    increases sorrow...

MIdsummer Rain, thank you for that lovely poem. A mum can be a real hero in so many quiet ways.
I am sorry that I haven't answered earlier but I haven't been able to get online for a while.
