I chose an author to read that I did not know well and wrote a poem from her poetry titles. Those titles are in bold and the italics are lines from this authors poems. Can you guess who this is?

She’s like a phoenix,
her spirit soars
as she rises on eagle’s wings
to unimagined heights.

She is a mystic mermaid
from fantasy’s past,
lost in loves music,
the sweet song of endless love.

At times gate she waits,
and speaks of cold-hearted passion,
silent tears, a shell full of wishes,
one more chance, a secret dream.

Can you see her?
at rainbows end,
looking for that one dark word,
to make it all make sense.

If ever pen becomes a prison,
and passion place does fade,
an empty soul seeking peace,
a poets death she’ll seek.

One last glimpse behind,
one last look goodbye,
then she is gone.
A lady and her unicorn, who

whispers pictures from the past,
defining love from mountain tops,
while somewhere in my mind I see
her pockets full of dreams.
