The Challenge is to write something Australian, It can be in accent, or humor or flora and fauna and for those of you who know nothing about Australia... Make it up. i won;t be offended. Poet de Vine Here is probably the most well known of Australian Poems it's by A B Patterson called "The Man from Snowy River." Kethry, sorry hon, thought it best that I remove the poem now.. Truly friends, "The Man From Snowy River" is an Aussie classic. We all grew up learning the poem and reciting it in primary school. Which was a feat considering it's length!! LOL There are some great songs that have come out of Australia too. "This Is Australia" forget the artist, "Down Under" by Men At Work "Great Southern Land" by Icehouse and of course many great movies and poetry too!! Isis or you could try any site that has au at the end. What is it about that country.... my favourite band have a song called Australia, one my two soul mates moved there and the list it seems goes on, so how can I refuse to write a poem about Australia. Australia by Manic STreet Preachers. Great song! Brian, sorry hon, thought it best I removed the lyrics now. Like poetry we can't risking imposing on any copyrights. Above I mentioned some other great Aussie songs... I decided my Ned Kelly poem would more than suffice for Kethry's Challenge and I've posted it in Open 9 as per Kethry's request. Isis I come from the land down under, The Great Southern Land.
