Take a word, any word...[OK, a clean word] and RUN, do not walk, to your nearest thesauraus, [or you could use your computer's program] do some cross checking, do a little more cross-checking, and from all of the synonyms that you bring up...y'got it...create a poetic piece! Have fun! Sunshine Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

here is something I lashed out, I am hiding here. I ended up with the word "Irritable." I had a bit of fun with this one. Irritable I decided to partake in this challenge, Who knows might be fun. I went searching for my thesaurus, found it after an hour. I selected a word at random, my finger landed on " Irritable." Oh brother, look what I have done. How I am supposed to write a poem about that when I am not even sullen. What line should go next, how should I approach this, humour rhyme or sonnet? Oh I am feeling confused, I am feeling vexed, this poem is a hex. I think I might blow a fuse. Ok lets go with this what have I to lose… "Only my mind, " mumbled beneath my breath, I refuse to get morose, it is only a poem no need to be sour. I could scream, fit to fly into a rage, to tear up my thesaurus page by page. Oh it is aggravating me, laughing as I struggle to drag the words from my brain. I am ok, I am not deranged…someone save me from this harassment, all too much. I just can't do this, I mean how can I write about been irritable when I am a picture of serenity, as happy as can be, watch the thesaurus burn burn burn, I am finally…oops what word I am looking for, where is that thesaurus? "AW SHOOT!" now I am really irritable. < !signature--> ------------------------ "I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else"-Richey Edwards "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto "Libraries gave us power Then work came and made us free What price now for a shallow piece of dignity" Nicky Wire, A design for Life. manic street preachers "Rock 'n' roll is our epiphany Culture, alienation, boredom and despair" [This message has been edited by brian madden (edited 06-03-2000).] |

Karilea, I have posted a something on the Open #7 forum in response to this fabulous challenge, hope that you enjoy it... regards, sudhir Hey you, out there in the cold, Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me? Hey you, standing in the aisle, With itchy feet and fading smile, can you feel me? Hey you, don't help them to bury the light. Don't give in without a fight. Hey you, out there on your own, Sitting naked by the phone, would you touch me? Hey you, with your ear against the wall, Waiting for someone to call out, would you touch me? Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone? Open your heart, I'm coming home.... by Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) - The Wall |

Ok, quite a challenge, Achromatism Colourless, Hueless, Toneless, The way I precive my life, Blank and lacklustre, And oh so boring, Faint, faded, fading, And slowly slipping, Ghastly pale dead, Or nealy. We are all poets, its just some people dont know it yet. |

Brian! Geniusly done gem What a 'Twist and Shoot' I had a taste of your poem I had to look for my thesaurus too Patience got in the way of my perseverance I almost lost my composure But endurance built a fortitude longsuffering forbearance attitude At the calmness of sea of books I refused to be passive The courage of my persistence Found the object desired Serenity in Sunshine's challenge monique |
