Sacrificial Lamb Not good enough for you After all these years All those empty nights Crying all those tears Bearing all the pain Trying to make a home While you were out Spending time alone Putting up a front Letting no one know It was all a game Just a heart break show Raising our three kids Being mom and dad Being there for them Giving them all I had Taking your abuse Wondering all the time Why love had to feel Like some dirty crime Carrying the blame Being the sacrificial lamb Understanding all the hurt Makes me the person that I am Strength comes to those Who bear the greatest pain I have nothing left to lose And only good to gain The sacrificial lamb That took it all from you Has now shed a new skin And starts again, anew [This message has been edited by Deb Lynne (edited 03-24-2000).] |

Wonderful Deb, you were the lamb and you fought back valiantly!! Well done!  If your poem is based on your life, sorry you had to endure that, I was the backbone of the family myself for a number of years..
