I thought I'd put in a weekly challenge, about this time each week I will post a new one.  They will cover many various subjects, so hopefully most of them will interest you.
This week for anyone who's up for a challenge, the challenge is an easy one -
Music is a joy for all, how does it effect you and why is it so precious to you.???
If anyone cares to post, post here in this forum
Thanks.
Lisa

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

As you can tell by my name, I love jazz!  The flow of the instruments (piano I like best), and the swing to them  makes my heart pound and my ears always yearning to hear some more.  And then, there are the lyrical music, which captivates my mind.. and the words over flowing with truth and experiences that I would hope for.  You see, a person can not experience everything (and I love to experience EVERYTHING), but somehow when I don't get to, everytime I hear the right music, I experience what they experienced (or try to anyway).

ok this was not an easy challenge but I managed to come up with a few lines ...

The twang of the guitar
the beat of the drums
the voice that sings the words
as a story's spun
lyrics that captivate
and touch upon our souls
allowing us to live
a life outside our own

~*Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear*~

Music is what you make of it
It's my, heart and soul
music is how someone feels
its good old rock n roll

You can like rap, or dance hits
I like a little everything
so lets call it quits

hehehe short and stupid but its about music

Why I Like Music

When I am in a pitch black cave
where stange growling noises are aplenty
Or am drowning in abyssal floods
where unknown menacing creatures rush to bite
Or am struggling to stand firm
where the grounds tremble and split open underneath me
A
good
  song
    tugs
      at
       me
        to
         this
          ladder
               to
                walk
                   on,
                    out
                      of
                        peril

And hence i survive harsh obstacles unscathed
Transported to this elevated elightened plane of light where i can look around
At peace and at ease.

do treat this post as it is submitted in Critical Analysis--do tear this to pierces if deemed necessary ")

Ok This one always stumps me...
I have trouble expressing exactly what music does for me.  Here is a little go..

The minor notes send shivers up my backbone,
And shivers through my soul,
Haunting melodies, almost magic refrains,
Calm me, put me in a lull..

Words sung that seem to come from my subconscious,
Move through and around me,
As though I've spoken them before,
As though created just for me.

Special songs, special melodies,
Caress the mind and soul,
I tend to draw power from them,
They never take their toll.

Makes me long to take the stage again,
To sing with love and youthful zest,
Once again I'd be in my own,
At my most talented and best.

See, it is a hard subject!!
Everyone did fine in my opinion.

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
Wishing you well and
wishing you love......

softly the piano sings
for her fingers make it so
simple physics cause the strings
to let the music go

from the other room i hear
the notes, the cord, the rhyme
just a tune to my ear
that my heart is keeping time

Ok Isis, here is my answer to your challenge:

The Soothing Vocals
Like an Angelic Voice
Eases my overwhelmed mind
and fills my being with peace

The Soft melody surrounds me
Cradles me like a mother holds her newborn
All my worries melt away
As the voice fills my heart

Feeling the emotions of the song
I am at Peace
For a brief time
I am at Peace.

The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, not the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship."

--Ralph Waldo Emerson
