been raving for so many years
and shall be mad for many more to come

crazy is what i am, my dear friend of misery
crazy is what shall become of me

sometimes,
the sun goes down
and the canvas turns crimson
sometimes,
there is a fire
in the skies above burning
so bright, fuming furiously

and in those sometimes,
i think it is okay to be crazy
i think it is okay to be me

oh! to be me is an idea
so outcast,
and i am overturned,
like a box of nonsensical whims
and i’m spinning
like a top caught
in an endless tailspin

i think it is okay to be crazy
i think it is okay to be me

and between the great fire
and the much-photographed solitude
of a crimson-tipped evening,
i am caught in a state of self-denial
forcing a silly smile, thinking
it is after all great to be me

and when all the nuts
and their bolts are in place
all i shall ask you is
are you ready,
ready for me?
