The Last of April Meetings I want to write and then read, as if my voice should bear true My own Serve me well, this quiet thought, come Loud! Then whisper at me again and make the promise ~ that if nothing is left, let my heart alone Stand as poet ~*~ she sits alone & only the open book invites her in ~ blank pages for a full mine ~ ~*~ I play on/with/around/loving words So Allow your mind to steal My mines wealth & allow the gold to filter in ~*~ When will I get back to you… these silent thoughts, these lonely moments while others on the Cape or on the Pacific hold memories ~*~ Tonight! They all clapped after each and every poem and did not wait or pause or realize Her depth Who is better, then, At poetry A man who feels? Or a woman Who counts syllables? ~*~ This is inspiration received from the last poetry readings for April, a month of Poetry. This is in tribute to poets that strive, the poets of Passions that met this month, some for the first time, and to those that for the promise they give to others, of a tomorrow to come, All!In the name of poetry. ~*~ ©Karilea Rilling Jungel 23 April 2002 |

Hello Karilea Your words spoke many truths and I'm sure many could relate. Each and every poet who comes here is warmly welcomed by all and I feel privileged to be writing amongst some of the most kind hearted people in the world. I don't know how I came to write and I don't even know if I'm doing it the right way but it just happens. I've never counted syllables, yet I rhyme with most of my poems. Nothing will surpass the sheer enjoyment it gives to me and I feel it is the encouragement of others that makes my writing complete. Take care......Sue Suetang |

s beautifully written poem, Sunshine. You have grasped the thought admirably... Who is better? There need be no contest. One is allowed to feel and count at the same time |

"Who is better, then, At poetry A man who feels? Or a woman Who counts syllables?" YES!!! I have widely been influenced by National Poetry Month and the gifts and opportunities it offers us all to share our voices and what is more amazing than having some of our own resident poets meet together? (smiles) This is excellent, sweet friend, I LOVE THIS, this is going into my library, YAY, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |
