*This poem was made for an assignment in Ms. Chadwick's 1st period english class. It was to be written with lines from the great gatsby in it. The Sunset where four candles flickered is where i stood looking ahead at tomorrow i see it turn into the bright rosy-colored space that makes up the half acre of deep pungent roses as night began to fall a poet, gulps the incomparable milk of wonder as I looked towards the mountains humming out into the darkness in which the poet in me believed was lit only by a yellow light being joined by my lover I took his hand into mine we walked across the moonlit gravel a white ashen dust veiled our path as we walked on, hand in hand we passed over a dark bridge limited only by our love flying high beyond ourselves between grotesque reality and savage frightening dreams Our deep feelings of love for eachother can flourish and grow each day any part of reality will make us who we are turning us into the angels we need to be ~*~ In Loving Memory GMC Forever. Kellie, How wonderful. I am reading the Great Gatsby and for the first time because of Bothell HS Students and Ms. Chadwick. This is so well done. Thank you for sharing. I give it an A+! Nancy loves it too... [This message has been edited by Larry C (06-09-2002 01:18 AM).] |
