Your specialty mix is what drew her in smooth and intoxicating til she's tired and weary of going through the motions and the late night supper stuff of hunger and thirst drained in the process. Thrown to the back of her throat a stiff drink that no longer burns going down building up a tolerance amune to the bittersweetness. Waiting for the after effects to soothe like a false caress a happy hour strained through a sieve as she watches you line em up filling an insatiable need once is never nearly eough. You made it hard to resist polishing over the gloss conversations unheard like hot air blurs the senses screening through the smoke blowing rings around in circles. The steaks were tough the fat even harder to chew left skimming off the risidue there's no medium to the rare no prime to the cut a side of thigh is the special everyday. Topped off floaters that invariably separate taking orders for last call looking for any and all takers pouring it on slighting a woman's vulnerability a promise of two fingers full. Dimming in the lights when the hour comes too close sweeping across the keys perfectly playing fine tuning old love songs ~O solo mia come hold me tight~ One of fifty two cards and every ace in the hole or the rolling of loaded dice paying favors to land where you want them to lie cutting her losses when the chips are down how much simpler can it be? Like a shark works a pool table lining her up behind the 8 ball watching to see if she will do and if she's got what it takes to rack em up coming closer to watch her break apart bit by bit. It's nickle and dime stuff sometimes you win, sometimes you lose the sound of bells going off are a figment like hitting the jackpot conjured up in the imagation. On any given day he'll explain the difference and the meaning of real life as if she didn't know by now contradicting himself if she dare asserts herself questioning his mix. A cheap date passing through a fancy makes a girl feel young and in love ignoring the signs ironically, he only stops by when she's ready to leave and the lights go on he wonders why she's afraid to look not wanting to believe. What was only a romantic notion like ice cubes make for a tall drink topping off her glass spilling over the edge stuck with a tab she can't afford to pay. Melting in the aftermath losing the bite that once packed the punch over her head and watered down. What you see isn't always what you get no remedy for the cure left by the after effects sipping syrupy sweet love drunk and hung while holding her head up with one foot in and out of the door... "filling an insatiable need once is never nearly eough." Well, that's exactly how I feel about reading this masterpiece. So, into my library it goes, and then, I'll refill my glass as often as I want. This is fantastic writing! |

Blues This is excellent! I know it happens and the situation comes out that way. Some guys or girls, speak with the tongue of the devil and are nothing but users living in their own little world of selfishness. Chances are they'll die lonely unloved people. Sadly many of the hearts that they crush often times never realize any emotional reprieve. Powerful, insightful, intense writing! |

Lori, Well girl...this is out of my element as I have never been in this environment. Don't drink, don't smoke, don't do bars and grandpas was a gambler so I always stay away from there. Sorry that I lack the insight into all the poignancy. But I know this...everybody is right, you write well. It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo! |
