Embracing a mirage
a look alike of what used to be
memories rain through a funnel
awash in uncertainty
of ever more that never was.

Holding and releasing
flowing through me
a vessel leading away from the dock
drifts farther from the landing
unsure of what I'm feeling.

Yet I stare in quiet awe
at each port along the seaside
and all the places we've been before
rocked by the breeze
and the warm intent of familiar.

With each rising breath
I curve against the sway
heading towards the harbor lights
weathered by the storm
and the certainty of knowing
my love has run it's course.

Never to sail away again ....

The warm intent of familiar...
One of the best expressed lyrics yet!

A beautifully written reflective, sad sailing trip. Good imagery here!

I like this too.  The imagery, looking at the land from sea.  Very good metaphor.

(smiles) Yes, always let your heart be the searchlight to find what you desire and may you always follow the lighthouse light to seek all your dreams, for they will all come true! (sigh) This is wonderfully said, sweet friend, I love this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lori, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
