Common Ground

In silence I sit, my voice overcome
my echo in vain, as I touch there,
where last I felt yours.

A gentle warmth flows
the moment, a watershed of thoughts,
as I feel blessed for your know.

I could mellow in your arms, if only.
I would age in reverse,
as your youthfulness
produces an energy
that speaks to me, its power
pulling me out of my darkness.

A common ground exists.
I walk it daily among my gardens
of poppies, lilacs,
the softness of candytuft
everywhere, roses rising
amongst the mounds.

It is there my eyes can rest,
feeling the beauty,
breathing the sweetness,
envisioning the words
that touch my soul.

That feeling follows me throughout,
sets me free, reigns my heart,
swallows my beyond
until that touch
becomes yours once more.

M

Hello Maureen

So very stunning were your images and words, the two complimented each other perfectly.  Your words have a habit of sweeping me off my feet.

Take care.....Sue

M.  You really really are very good at this.
But, of course...you already have been told
that at least a whole bunch of times...eh?

A tender, yearning and loving poem...

Barry, thank you for saying that...I just write from my heart and have had to learn to control that a bit, as some days I can have feelings that overwhelm in reverse..but I am learning *s

thank you again

Maureen, this is absolutely wonderful!
I love it

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
