I wonder,
is there really
a thing called
Peace?
I've searched for it many times,
and it seems to be hiding,
or temporarily out of town.
Does anyone know where
I can find it?

I played hide-and-seek,
I tried not to peek,
but when Peace went on the run,
I put down my toy gun,
and searched high and low.
Where the hell
did it go???
I thought I was good
at this game.
But no one told me
the rules never change.
The harder you look,
the better it hides.
The further you go,
the further it slides,
until you aren't really sure
it was ever there
in the first place.
Peace.
Does anyone know
where to find it?
It seems to be lost.
Or perhaps,
is it waiting,
to be found
just
around
the
corner?
Peace.

Oh to have just one piece of peace....
I must say that in my lifetime, Kacy...I have never known world peace...

Thats probably why our generation became rabid peaceniks, war protesters and hippies...but then again, I don't know if any generation has ever seen peace...
Thanks for sharing this with us.

Peace, dear sister. For within these blue walls, we have found some moments of Peace. As for World Peace? It is the most elusive dream of all times, the dream that will never come true unless and until everyone on earth dreams this same dream, at the same time. I don't expect to see it, but I will keep dreaming of it, and hoping for it, and working to achieve it.
BTW, June 11 is Race Unity Day. A small step in the right direction.

I don't know for sure, but I think that peace
is a disillusion of life. Like you said in
your poem, the harder you look the better it
hides. I stopped looking at life through a
kaliedoscopic viewpoint a few years back,
and now I just accept the concept of "peace",
or lack thereof, as an inescapable result of
man's inability to deal with the world's problems. I really like your idealism though.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Kacy, I know just how you feel, I feel that I am growing up in the most difficult generation ever and I have never felt total peace in this world, though the answer just has to be somewhere! (sad sigh) I too hope we can all bring people together with more appreciation with one another, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I have wondered the same thing. If you should happen to find it, let me know. I need some peace myself.

There certainly doesn't seem to much of it around now days. Other parts of the world are severely war torn yes! But right on our very streets too notwithstanding the events of Sept 11th
Yes, Midnite it does seem like an elusive ideal to picture within one's mind.
Nice insightful write!

Thanks to each of you, who understand the search for Peace is an ongoing goal, and nothing should stop us from working for this, not even major setbacks, and certainly not negative thinking. Elusive as it is, it's the only goal I think is worth a day-to-day effort. Each day we encounter some type of conflict in life, and each day, most of us are given an opportunity to learn how to deal with anger and hatred in a peaceful way.
