I once again close my eyes to the world,
intent on discovering the vile corruption
viciously lurking just out of my grasp
within the realm of my disillusioned mind.
I so more often than not encounter
haunts of violence surrounding me,
valiantly I raise my sword into the air
ready to fight off the enemies that I find.

Hymns to a god unknown to myself
enthrall my reclusive sense of honor,
while the deceptive shimmers in my black horizon
foreshadow images from which I cannot hide.
Almost effortlessly I am able to endure the pain
as the malice within me yearns for escape,
when my cauldron of hate boils over into the fire
at the crossroads of life my worlds always collide.

Like a vulture the evil presence circles the skies
above my existence so stagnant and weakened,
reminding me that my battle rages ever on as I
try to subdue the abominate feelings in my soul.
Regardless of whether it is day or night when
the angel of death arrives to fulfill my destiny,
embers of my spiritless flames will surely reveal
the whereabouts of my life, my mind and of my fate.
It is only then the battle is lost.

Staring into the sun just makes you blind to what beauty actually exists in the sky.

I believe the opposite is probably true. That is precisely when the wonder and glory of your existence will be revealed by a just and merciful God. Unless, of course, you have  been really, really bad!
Nice to meet you!

HI there midnitesun, and yes, I have been
really bad! I must say that I am not really
into religion, in fact you can say that I am
a non-believer. I just like to put myself in
situations of what other people may be
thinking or going through and write about
the cicumstances as I concieve them. In this
case, I am writing about a person on the
brink of suicide due to a depression after a
very decadent life. Thanx for reading my
poetry, and I will read your too.

Staring into the sun just makes you blind to what beauty actually exists in the sky.
