Dark Pinocchio
May 26th, 2002
Copyright 2002 Doug Pretorius

I held my swelling head,
pretending to know what it means,
stumbling through broken glass,
that fills my empty dreams.
All my rusted wires,
dangle in your hand,
I play out my life,
as any enslaved man.
Tomorrow's just another day,
in this twisted endless mess,
when I hope to gain my freedom,
until then I'll be your pet.
My pounding skull,
wakes me out of bed,
mirgraines and morphine,
are all that I have left.
Time to open the holes,
that I cut into my skin,
to dream the final dream,
and this time I'll win.
