Silhouettes of Memory
Virginia Salter

silhouettes in blue
edged in canary yellow
circumnavigate
this spring-time morning
world

gull and crow
flit and perch
bathing in the beauty
of the rising hour

sparrow and starling
speed across the sky
harried in their delight
the commencing of day

many asleep
in their memories
some prepare blossoms
others ready for the trek
to bestow their love
upon some sacred ground

and then
there are a few
that dwell within the recollection
of their loved-one's blessed spirit
reveling in the gift given,
oh, but, for a time,
somewhere in their history
of long ago days
gone by

May 27, 2002

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

This poem is so serene and full of wonderful imagery depicting the beauty of nature, and the beauty of memories that are etched in our minds.

A wonderful description of the coming day as seen by nature... looking forward and us looking back.

Love light and Peace,

Sherry

Cherish the good memories past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow.
But above all... be kind to yourself today.
