To Willow With Love - 05/2002
© Mysteria 2002

Press to Play Bruce DeBoer's ~* Illusions *~

~* In The Wisps Of The Wind *~

Again, she whispers to me in the wisps of the wind saying,

“Imagine if you will, today is your last day on earth.”
“Tell me of all the happiness in your,
what do you remember most about being alive?”
“Be very quiet and still, look around you,
tell what you really see?”

Quickly I turned to answer, but in that split second she vanished.
Was it my imagination or this constant need to see her that makes me
think I hear her, and answer these tests
the games that she played that I knew so very well?

I began to conjure up all kinds of images, hoping
that if play her game she will reappear.
I wonder on the last day of earth ,
what the rain would feel and taste like,
would I even notice that which I never knew before?
Would the smells of the world become amazing and
wonderful, with the sweetness of the earth’s breath?

Would the wind be cold, harsh, gentle or as warm
the womb that protected me as I first entered the world?
Would the ocean rage with anger, or be calm in
knowing that this day was its last tide?

The simple taste of water suddenly becomes so
refreshing in my mind, awakening me.
This simple gift from nature I took for granted
and now I mourned its imminent loss.
Around me I search for nature's beauty, the trees, animals,
birds, the simple sound of life, as my senses
magnify hoping to stop this time from rushing by me.
Would a smile seem warmer, a hug more precious,
a kiss of loved ones become the seal of our love everlasting?
How unimaginably wonderful this game of her is.
Would I forgive all my enemies, and would they
too forgive my wrongdoings?
Would there be an end to judgment,
and equality the world's final reality?

“What colors do you see, paint me a picture of what you see?”

I turned just as a dove so blindingly white took off in flight.
Oh the colors! How brilliant. They were magnificant,
like a fresh palette and I was the painter.
So many hues, and shades began to paint my mind's path,
and the unknown journey that would lie before me.

“You've spent bare moments my friend thinking of your demise,
can you see how very precious the gift of life truly is?” she said.
“All that is important in life was yours all along
and always will be you just forget to look for it.
Open your heart, open your eyes to the wonder of it all,
awaken your artistic vision whether it is in your
painting, writing, singing, but whatever it is, awaken it.
Shout loudly so all can hear you, and sing too,

Today is the last day of the rest of your life, see it, feel it, smell it, live it!”

I wanted so badly to reach and touch her, dissolve this apparition,
this ache so very precious to me
and now I can only reach her by stilling my subconscious,
and slowing it to the point of silence.

Then I realized that is why I had this angel looking over me,
and those around me also had their own angels.
Their job is to awaken us to this knowledge to simply live life.
Angels still us, for it is only in our ability to quiet ourselves
in our surroundings that we are truly able to awaken from our
personal storms to see and feel the warmth of the sun.
In the distance I heard a whisper in the wisps of the wind...

"Today is the last day of the rest of your life my friend, live it!"

Remember to hug someone you love today!

Another beautiful tribute and inspire from your bond with her.
This is a lovely reminder of what we, (of human nature) seem to find so hard to practice in day to day life and strife...

take nothing for granted...
love and live each day as if it were your last....

seems like it should be so easy to do.

I’ve no doubt she would truly be proud to be the inspiration for this. Beautiful.

Conscientious Angel she is, continuing to touch you so that you might in turn touch others...and that is how the soul is remembered...

I encourage everyone who has the proper equipment to go ahead and play the music with the poem...Mysteria does nothing half-way, and it is a most appropriate piece, for a most magnificent poem....

"Today is the last day of the rest of your life"... equally as "Today is the first day of the rest of your life"... Live it to its fullest...

A dichotomy of truth - This is a wonderful piece, Sharon...

Ahhh... so beautiful...

I wonder on the last day of earth ,
what the rain would feel and taste like,
would I even notice that which I never knew before?
Would the smells of the world become amazing and
wonderful, with the sweetness of the earth’s breath?

I so like this part... I'm forever making my sister laugh because I ask her, as we are digging a bed for her rosebushes - OHHHH do you SMELL that dirt? How wonderful!  - or if it is about to rain - I smell rain - do you smell it? And this weekend we went to the coast - and I kept saying how good the salt smelled, and she said she only smelled barbecue *LOL*...  I love your poem - such truth and beauty combined.

...and her crown was formed by the ice in her eyes
