Love Not Wanted

Softness sent from deep within
from hidden sources given
A dream that love would begin
for one whose life is driven

A soothing voice to ease pain
and give rest to weary mind
A hope of dreams to attain
was what I wanted to find

In the end the sky went dark
as eyes open from the dream
With empty heart I embark
while my heart gives silent scream

Offered what I should have not
to one I thought who needed
Harsh lessons I had forgot
and fell in love unheeded

Now a star falls from the sky
with dreams that are all haunted
Once more I hear words “good-bye”
to a Love that’s Not Wanted

You write so smoothly,
It’s a joy to read and flow along,
I just wish it was a better ending for you.

Thank you for posting this.  I identify strongly with your creation having lived through it a few times. Rejection hurts even though it is a part of life. Still, I find the effort is not wasted for I am a better person in the end. Carry on!  I look forward to reading more of your work.

Wow! Karen! Sad verses....love's tricky stuff isn't it?  A onesided love affair never works and it's so sad for the one with the genuine heart...and I know yours is genuine whether you're just writing this from fiction or not!

hugs Karen glad to see your words..I was   resting  and listening to oldies tunes in the sunshine a bit ago and this made me think of Bobby Rydell's
Forget Him...
if he doesn't love you,
forget him if he doesn't care
don't let him tell you that he wants you when he can't give you love that isn't there....Sighhhhhhhhhh
I know there is a message there somewhere

Karen Hi there, this is lovely, your rhyme and flow in this cannot be bettered. You have been greatly missed, I know mum Mushy has particularly missed your excellent writing. I’ve browsed in the archives and read your work so I also know how well you write. I do hope this isn’t from personal experience, it is very sad, but amazingly well written

Mum isn’t very well today, but I know if she were she would be replying to this beauty, you know both mum and I adore your writing, and I think Emma has also picked up the fact you are a terrific writer

To find love...though it can never be...
is so sad..

To feel love...though it is not given in
return...is a travesty....

To be led down a path of dreams...thinking
one might have found love...is so hurtful.

You have the greatest heart,  the most
compassion of most anyone I have known..

You are a wonderful and deserving woman..

Hugs...  My heart is with you..

Echoes .... this the word that resounds ...
echoes .... of Karen's words, those of loss ...
and founds.
The star never really falls from the sky ...
it just burns brighter on the otherside.

welcome home lady...

You are SO good, Karen.  I loved this sad little piece.

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
