Grey green oak Straight trunked and smaller Than stands were before third cut logging Here on hillsides just above the place Where River decided in lazy frustration To bend rather than move limestone feet Planted in an ancient sea but grown From fires deep within the bowels Of Mother. No easy climb from gravel bar But this copse of trees, hanging, it seems Over the very air below as they lean out, As if trying to touch a lover with fingered limbs Is a cool place to sit Perhaps lie locked in tangles of legs and arms Knowing no one will see or share Pinking places not accustomed to sun Displayed in lusty rites of desire The climb down is no easier But knowing the end of day will wrap you Again around my soul makes even split shale twistings Seem but an afternoon stroll It's grey green oak...that no longer Is a virgin stand But then again Neither are we [This message has been edited by Cpat Hair (04-11-2002 01:31 PM).] |

Ron Beautiful imagery, and heart warming feel to this place and the intimate meaning you reveal. Quite a sigh here in this room of me. |

You are deceptively clever in taking one to the forest to find images that would blush Mother Nature... and might I add? You did it very, very well.... |

YAY!!! Oh my gosh, I just love how you compare and depict Mother Nature with personification, this is an exquisite vision of natures first greening of spring! (big hugggsssss) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is fabulous! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you!
