The value of Miss Ginger, a teacher |

When I was young, I regarded the moon as my pup my stingy parents didn't allow me to keep and was fascinated, yet appalled by mortality My teachers taught me about tides~ the moon wasn't exactly following me around They taught me about meaning~ that we should seek to enrich our lives with challenges and up-and-downs, rather than be burdened by the logistics of how long we would live Sharpeners teachers are~ they trim off our raw edges and make us unblunt Candles they are~ they burn themselves out so that we might glow Flowers some of them are~ they wither far too early But just as I focus on images of flowers blossoming, I dwell on the values impacted by my teachers and the pains they took to pave my ways And some of their lessons are internalised~ I carry them around with me wherever I go I'm sure Miss Ginger's charges will have similar stories to tell and will live their lives, trying their darnest to follow her example |

Wonderful tribute to a profession that is experiencing such hardships these days. I always appreciate a write that gives teachers the credit they deserve. I was just reading an article that explained that even now days, with their authority and discipline severely restricted, teachers keep on trying to play a signifigant share in molding the lives of the kids they teach and love! A very dedicated profession that is extremely underpaid! This particular article I read brought out that some people will go to great ends to contact a particular teacher that taught them, maybe even forty years earlier, to thank them for their influence! A special teacher that changed their life forever for the better. This type of thing alone makes the efforts of the hard working teacher all worthwhile. Thanks for such a fine write and for sharing your feelings!! |

Faterider, this is an marvelous tribute for Ginger Michelle. I, myself, had a teacher who passed away far too early, and he remains as one of the guiding lights in my mind...I am sure Larry's daughter's students will indeed have marvelous memories of her... |

(tears fall down my cheeks) God Bless You, sweet friend, I agree completely with what Eric said; I for one think my sophomore English teacher is a hero, for if I had never had him, I wouldn't be writing right now and he wouldn't have inspired me as he had! I dream of growing up and visiting him every now and then, for I want to return the favor for making me a success! (big hugggssssss) Ginger is a wonderful teacher as she is a wonderful friend and daughter of our dearest friend Larry and I know her students will always admire her and her words of love and inspiration will grow timelessly with them! (wipes tears) God Bless You, sweet friend, Larry and us all are so lucky to have such a loving friend like you, we all love you so much! May love and light always shine upon you! faterider I was a teacher for many years and appreciate this for that reason, but also for the tenderness it was meant for, Miss. Ginger. |

You seemed to have perfectly caught the aura of Ginger. I have had the privledge of teaching next door to her this year; much too short a time. We here grieve for her family and for the loss of an inspiring teacher. Thank you for your sentiments. |
