Porcelain Purge

Hurling into the shower,
screaming until the water ran cold,
with betrayal, shock and hopelessness
bouncing off the cheshire walls
returning to coat me in my accusations.
Kneeling on the hard tile, I turn inside out
as droplets scathe cheeks with stains
of how and why, unanswered
pelted by tepid streams and soaked realities
matching the sobbing outpour of aimless rivers.

Lava tears burn fury trails
down vacant breasts in shiver,
feeble, I slide to the floor
in exhausted acceptance
watching pellets play
upon defeated fingers,
beading and rolling,
moisture drops itching
along the white walls of my skin.

Promises swirl down the drain
of steady porcelain rain
licking in folds of curve,
a soothing beat upon my back
calming with wet caress
surrounding salty remembrance
that washes you away.

Pretty intense imagery here, Melodie. I have many thoughts about this poem, not all of which I'm ready to discuss yet. The imagery is striking. Welcome to Passions. I look forward to reading more poetry from you.

Well hello my fellow Canadian ~ Welcome to Passions!!!

'Profound, raw' and 'exceptional' doesn't even do this poem justice, this is beyond excellent writing.  I can really 'feel' the pain, struggle and hope in this. You've made quite the impressive entrance with this piece.

Take care,
Melissa
