Is That a Teardrop?

Is that a teardrop waiting on the edge of saddened eye
Waiting for the time and place to let the spirit cry
“Not here“, it murmurs to me, “this is not the proper place
Don’t let your eye disclose the sorrow deep below your face”

There is a wellspring in your heart that brims with tearful weight
Just turn and walk the other way, before it is too late
Don’t let the sound of spinning voices penetrate your ear
Hold back the wounds of love you harbor in a crystal tear

You’re all alone within a crowd, yet silence fills the room
Not one more thought of anguish can a tender ear consume
So laden is the heart with pain, the eyes with tears of strife
The drops flow swiftly, unannounced, from out the wells of life

How easily they slip from us in unguarded moments...but that can be said of more than a tear...

Beautifully sorrowful sentiments wash through these lines Liz, as only you could capture them. Just lovely ... and the best part is ... I could "hear your voice" as if you were reading it to me, sitting side by side. Wish I was there to give you a hug.

Best wishes and
/Kit

(big hugggssssss) This is so very sadly written, sweet friend, I hope everything is alright and now within the crowd you've found refuge from the sorrow and angst and now joy and stillness fills your heart! (kiss on cheek) This is a  delightful morning read and I too hope that soon you and Kit can see each other again and read more lovely poems, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Elizabeth, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
