If You're Itchy - Just Call Me!

Oh no! Tori has the darn old chicken pox,
They seem to be popping up everywhere.
She called and told me on the phone,
‘They’re between my toes, and in my hair!”

“Gramma I have so many itchy spots,
there’s at least 15 more of them today.”
“I counted them and now there's 42,
please make them go away, so I can play.”

She cried, “Gramma I’m feeling really itchy,
and it’s so hard not for me to scratch.
Mom puts Calamine lotion on the itchy ones,
but everywhere I look, there’s a new batch! “

I said, “Don’t you worry, I’ll figure out a plan.”
“Don’t cry, soon you won’t scratch at all.”’
“I know Tori, I’ll carry my cell phone,
and when you get itchy, just give me a call!”

Now what a stupid thing for me to do
Really, whatever was I even thinking?
My cell phone is ringing off the hook,
Well, of course you realize that I’m winking.

~*~

The poor kid, she really does have them. Ahhhh...

Give Tori a big hug and a big kiss from me
(by cell phone, of course)
Tell her I hope she stops itching real soon
If a poem would scratch them away, perhaps I could help, but a cell phone hug will have to do
THis is a precious poem

Sharon

I remember chicken pox.  Wish I'd had a gramma with a cell phone like you to call.  Hugs, for being there.

well must be that time of year again...

I thought they were coming out with a vaccine for it by now...
Hope she feels better soon and I think I remember an oatmeal bath being soothing for chicken pox as it is with poison ivy.

Lyra ~ If I have anything to do with it - it will be! By the way - help yourself to my smilies anytime.

Noah ~ Thank you for you good wishes sweetie.

Liz ~ You will have way more chicken pox poems to write than I will, so get practicing girlfriend!  Thanks for the cellhug.

Martie ~ You do!  Phone me anytime

Maureen ~ Girl - we thank you SO much for all the trouble you went to, and Tori is having her oatmeal bath later thanks to you!  That was so kind of you and all the info went to Brenda and she sends her thanks.

Sunshine ~ "her fingers!", I didn't hear you feeling sorry for me and my ears, as she sings and to tell you the truth - I hope she doesn't give up her day job! He he

Hello Sharon

Yes, I remember the chicken pox.  I only had a mild dose, as did my daughter but they are such unsightly things and make you feel miserable.  I can certainly sympathise with your granddaughter.

Take care.......Sue

Oh Lyra, you make me laugh...that one is Tori's favorite little angel.

Sue, actually she is going to live and is enjoying this incubation I think (she is however driving my daughter-in-law a little batty)
