To a friend With words spoken in the quiet silence As eyes question in each momentary glance Neither of us wanting a gothic romance Not saying things straight out Afraid of feelings being hurt Just wanting to do some light heart flirting I don’t want to cause any trouble In your life or mine For to me you are an angel divine You wanted to know just what I wanted That I can’t answer just yet But I promise to your life I am no threat We may never be a bedroom set But I shall love you always as a friend The laughter and love of a friend I shall extend But should you find yourself in my arms Don’t expect me to regret it nor forget it To me it would be a lot of fun and a very nice fit So you may flirt, wink and mess with my head But my heart you will not find anything but a friend For it shall be locked away in a box till the very end With in the confines of my self imposed prison That I call home, My ice fortress just a little north of Nome But be warned should the chance arise Don’t be surprised If I take the chance to steal a little kiss Just to know if what I have missed Is really as the kiss I got in my dreams alan 05/07/02 |
