I know this isn't much of a poem... I spent most of the day reading about people protesting against cigarette companies, how video games and music are the reasons kids do bad things, etc... I just started to dump my feelings out onto paper. I'm sorry if this may offend. It's just what I thought... -------------------------------------- There is a little phrase To help in daily life Through all trials and tribulations It can be your salvation, Whenever you feel You’re being pressured Or when you’re unsure Don’t do it… if you feel like the consequences outweigh all of the good when deeds you may accomplish may find you in deep stuff Don’t do it… if tobacco, alcohol, drugs or such is brought to your attention if you don’t like it Don’t try it… Say no thank you If you don’t to be around it If the thought or smell is grotesque Don’t be there… If the music or artist is not to your liking It’s not so hard Turn on something that you like Don’t listen to it… If their words seem offensive Why buy the music only to burn it Make a more sensible statement Don’t buy it… When violence runs ramped When the nation’s youth runs wild Look at how you’ve parented Don’t point the finger… The world has problems, it’s true Never try to make it worse By screaming to the top of your lungs That you don’t like it or want it Why conform to the moral standard Because you pitch a fuss If you don’t like it Don’t do it Fear destroys the mind, depression destroys the soul... only love and compassion may save you from death. Hello Lonely Shadow I couldn't agree more with your words which spoke many truths. So many are willing to point the finger at others before taking a good hard look at themselves. People seem much angrier nowadays and that is of great concern to me. There are too many who are trying to be something they are not and society expects too much of too many.
