My dogma! My dogma! The very rich are the very poor indeed… that old adage you can’t take it with you… no matter how far you run When I spied you in that dank and smoky bar-cantina-pub- tavern the tag it carried in the corner of the world you occupied so well (as France was raped yet again came the fall) I shivered for us both. It was wet, wet with the evils of a thousand strangled men. I’d found you Charlie Wales. But there’s no net in the sea. The moment lightly shocked me as nothing but exhaustion, discharged within the air. I whispered in your upturned ear ‘Daddy… Daddy…Dads.’ The identification tag like an old murmured tale of temperance, moderation, disavowed as legend tangled in a dream. You son of a... You… You…. Daddy…daddy…dads ...my old pie? Don’t mince your words. Maid Mare I miss her so. She sent me stamped from gay Paris but I became a trunk with the marks of well-worn leather. Sorry Charlie, daddy dads, there’s no net in the sea… no net in the sea… Where neon gaslights flicker once then fade, in the shadow, dies a queen. But boom or crash I’ll live on, bull or bear I’ll go on. But you! No, not you! You phantom father! …there’s no net in the sea Sorry Charlie (daddy…dads), conjugal visits don’t always mean there’s room at the inn. I’ve been stamped so many times Fragile, Undeliverable, Return, Postage Unpaid. Maid Mare and her mock compassion, she had the chance but ghosts returned to befall your haunted path. And mummy in her ancient tomb never cared for me? That’s what slurred… that’s what dripped from Marion’s mouth! Reclaim your honor Charlie Wales, I’ve been following your footsteps for a long, long time my past and present… dans chaque lit, un homme m’aura* You must excuse my borrowed French. it’s dark in here the latch was broken the little girl was raped and now she lives inside of me (never defeated) but brittle chains of bitter words bequeath me one more chance to call you, Dad Daddy Daddy! wake up wake up my tired eyes beseech you! *In every bed, a man will have me [This message has been edited by wayoutwalt (04-09-2002 11:16 PM).] |
