I feel a longing for simpler times a need to harvest autumnal pumpkin to sit with you on the old front porch and just be a country bumpkin Take this computer and lock it up Hide the television too put on a pot of Maxwell House and let me talk to you I watch your smile bloom as we chat and the furrows leave your troubled brow your laughter rings in twilight haze could we savor forever, this now? The day seems to move much slower but soon it’s time for me to go Sadly, I take your hand in mine pull you closer in evening’s glow I’ve loved this time with you my friend simple pleasures are rare for me To hold your hand, share a cup and talk of our poetry You offer a hug and squeeze goodbye but I stole a kiss from your mouth Then with a sad backward glance I drive off heading south |

sounds wonderful, but can we have Seattles Best instead of Maxwell House? lovely thoughts from a lovely soul thanks J There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar. |

This was a post of memories and a yearning for a simpler time.... I think that we all would do well to take a breath of fresh air now and again.... and this poem was one of those well needed breaths. Lovely. Thanks for refreshing my memory. Sherry Gardner |

PdV, Hey...I shut down my TV already. But leave my computer the heck alone. LOL I could give it up for a talk though. Got Decaf? Nice, really nice. It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo! |

Thank you for sharing the closeness of your moment. I loved the easy way of your words. Life is not all that complicated (if and when we learn to walk away from our computers) I really enjoyed reading this simple pleasure of yours. |

deVine. . . the rains are here now. . . you know what that means. . . Summer will be here before you know it. . . and with Summer, come the festivals. . . my favorite time of year. . . you know that I loved this. . . --------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

This was very well rhymed with an excellent rhythm too, but the telling of the poem's subject was even better... "Take this computer and lock it up Hide the television too put on a pot of Maxwell House and let me talk to you" - cool! |
