It's Three O'Clock in the Morning It’s three o’clock on Friday morning Not a speck of slumber in my eye Not a blink of heavy laden lids Not a winking bliss from starry sky Too early for the early birds To lull my heart with earthy tune Too late to call a friend or two Too pale to sooth me is the moon No sound of living do I hear Just humming of computer’s head No one to beckon me to come Back to the warmth of downy bed I feel a little hunger pang But hunger of the soul is more Intense than that of body’s whim And stronger than I’ve known before The only thing that’s left for me Is tapping on my keyboard pad As I delve into pits of thought Remembering the life I’ve had Wondering tomorrow’s fate Wishing joy the sun to bring But joy occurs at five o’clock When springtime birds begin to sing I’ve got an hour and a half to wait There’s nothing left for me to do But exercise my finger tips And conjure up a verse or two Until the birds come out to sing Until the blackness disappears I’ll lay in dark of room and mind And contemplate the passing years And if I tumble off to sleep Please call to me within the hour So I don’t miss the wakening Of breeze and sun, of bird and flower Elizabeth Santos |

Like heck hi buddy! Want me to phone? Hah! It is 1:24 a.m. here and my son and I are just playing pool on Yahoo. However, I kind of like these exercises of yours. By the way, I sure miss those birds of yours there, ours sound different (not as sweet somehow). How about a poem about that sweet little red-haired boy? I tell everyone here about him. This was a good one Liz, a great introspective poem. Okay I am going to bed now, sweet dreams! Hi Sharon, didn't think you were still awake. I'm going back to bed for a little bit, at least until the birds wake me up; maybe we can talk tomorrow. Glad you liked the poem, thank you! Go to bed! [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (05-04-2002 04:45 AM).] |

And if I tumble off to sleep Please call to me within the hour So I don’t miss the wakening Of breeze and sun, of bird and flower I enjoyed your words, Liz, and I usually am awake at 3 awaiting the 5 to turn the corner of time... ~smiling M |

Dear Elizabeth, It's sad how we with words just speak When love and joy is all we seek But lucky we have keyboard friends Which fills the gap, while heart it mends How clear our minds with ponder, when the hours get so late When no one's there to call us and say with love they'll wait Enjoy your early hours and the birds when they all sing Beyond our land of words and rhyme, ones fate has more to bring I enjoyed the read Elizabeth, I can't say that I have your early hours, but can well replate to your thoughts. Great write. Sincerely Rick |

(smiles) This is a wonderful poem of insomnia, sweet friend, sometimes, especially around the holidays, I too stay up like this just so I can see the birds singing and find the privacy to write with peace! (kiss on cheek) Good morning, sweet friend, hope you got to see the sun rise today, YAY, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Elizabeth, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |
