You The emptiness the lonely heart conceals Perpetuates the life sustaining drive To wallow in romanticized ideals Of honest love to keep faint hopes alive. But someone, somewhere, hopes, and dreams and waits To know someday the undiscovered you, And knowing you to satisfy your fates While claiming full contentment overdue. When last you meet the one your soul so craves, You'll find your richest fantasies surpassed. With guilt resolved you'll kneel as passion's slaves, Released from false restraints that plagued the past. The lustre of imagination's lure Must pale when love is honest, true and pure. |

A sonnet with a bite. I like the idea of an "undiscovered you." |

Well done - enjoyed. Chris Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away. |

BRAVO!!! This is so very well-said, sweet friend, sometimes at first we really don't know ourselves, but as we escape our camouflage and grow on, we learn the true virtues of love we find a treasure to share! (sigh) This is fabulous, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet David, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! I have read this passage but three times a little slower to taste the rhyme a little faster with skip of heart I like the thought your words impart... |
