Blackberry Cobbler chilled silver colander now holds my washed reward hum a song I sang as a child my smile has been restored tonight I make blackberry cobbler picked from a place of my past this time I need no recipe good and bad memories somehow last I learned something about me that before I had never known there is strength in past weakness a power when you need it shown I felt a burning in my eyes and didn’t know if it was tears or sweat but a world I had run away from I was full circle back with no regret I drizzled the butter and sugar as before in that kitchen with hurt tears now here cooking my mother's cobbler and find blackberries magic again this year chicken and dumplings bacon in green beans corn bread smothered in butter dinner will be done in fifteen [This message has been edited by 1slick_lady (05-02-2002 02:46 PM).] |

smiling here, in a "you-can't-be-serious" pose; now I have to tell you why....like you, southern gal, I too have been picking blackberries...like you--I know how to make a great cobbler with 'em. And when my daughter asked her dad, to go with her, my heart warmed over...for two seconds..as I watched them hop a fence full of poison ivy...(I DID...I WARNED THEM--He shot me the finger!!!!) My daughter is doing fine...but now she calls her dad "wuss". HE? MIGHT be back at work by Friday....sigh... ohbutidigresss.... Yes. smiles. I love it. Thank you. And now? I do happen to have some chillin'. |

Just yummy!! Chris Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away. |

(smiles) This is such a beautiful and touching poem, sweet friend, I just love the analogies you always create in your words, may you always hold all your dreams close and put your wqorries into a blender and make a fine rich dessert out of it always! (kiss on cheek) This is fantastic, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Helen, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you!
