COCO AND WOOFA

* * *

You lie beneath my feet
So devoted you are to me
Lately you've been hard of hearing
And you are having difficulty to see

But you've always been so faithful
Since the day we brought you home
Always happy being around us
Never feeling the need to roam

They say you're man's best friend
And I suppose that must be true
For your love is unconditional
These qualities in humans can be few

You've been such a big part of our family
Who has his special place on the mat
But your nose was put out of joint
On the day we brought a cat

Now you two are real good buddies
'tho you growl when in a mood
But you never once complain
When I see you demolish the cat's food

You've brought us so much happiness
Now living out your golden years
I don't look forward to your passing
For I may drown in all my tears

Sue,
Nope...you won't drown but you'll be miserable. I can sure relate. Domino is fourteen this summer. Liked your write.

It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo!

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Sue, I was smiling all the way through the poem, and then right when I got to the end, I felt my heart was about to break feeling the grief in your heart! (BIG HUGGGSSSSSSS) Oh Sue, my heart goes out to you and I know your sweet Coco and Woofa will live on for you always and when the time is right, they may go on but deep down, they will never ever leave you alone, for not only are dogs a man and woman's best friend but I know deep down Coco and Woofa will always see you as the best owner they could ever have! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, you have one of the most loving and caring hearts out of everyone I know, you are a true angel, my thoughts are with you, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Suetang - oh, how this brought back precious memories of our dear, departed Doberman,"Goose". She was the best friend I ever had and her unconditional love is missed to this day. This is a very sweet poem. Chris

Sue:  Pet lovers all go through that agaonizing day when a pet has to be put to sleep.  It's so painful and yet when you measure the years of companionship and enjoyment, you know it's worth it. We have gone trhough this many times and probably will again.  You never forget any of them, but it's good to give another one a home!

In the picture,  I could see a faithful
friend, lying tired in rest.  Struggling
a little....but still there,  still alive
and loving you...

I know well the feeling of loss of one of
our own pets....I have cried countless
tears in mourn of each passing...

They are a part of us, of our home and our
family....

Thank You Sue for another touching piece of
your beautiful words and heart.

So often I feel this family member gets lost in the shuffle of every day activities...thank you for your beautiful write about a dog's faithfulness to his family, and reminding me how short our time is with these beloved friends.  As I type, Essie lays under my desk by my feet...as always.  She is a constant comfort there, my 10-yr-old canine companion.  I think I'll take her to the game today!
